After less than 90 minutes of debate, The Illinois State House of Representatives voted 114-1 on Friday to impeach Governor Rod Blagojevich (Rep. Milt Patterson (D) was the sole dissenting vote, claiming he has "no first-hand knowledge of any of the evidence."). The proceedings now move to the state senate for trial.
The Governor is going to take it to the mat, however, stating, "I am confident that at the end of the day I will be properly exonerated." Blagojevich is claiming he is a martyr of the under-represented citizenry and that the legislature is in the pocket of big business and special interests.
Really, Rod? Really? Even while well aware that you were being investigated by the Feds, regarding President-elect Obama's now vacant Senate seat, you had the balls to say on a wiretap: "I've got this thing. And it's fucking golden. I'm just not giving it up for fucking nothing. I'm not going to do it. I can always use it. I can parachute me there."
Those are either some gargantuan balls he's got there, or else that snappy hairdo isn't covering much in the frontal lobe.
